Giants Tooth Results Mike Pedley sends:- “Happy New Year everyone. I started the year once again at Ogden for the Giant’s tooth, a gentle 3 mile race. Almost perfect weather (mild and calm) though a bit wet underfoot in places. I was 1.5 minutes and 11 places quicker than last year – a pleasing start to the year. One other Dark Peaker, Tony McCarthy whom I hadn’t met until yesterday. He had a strong run after steady start. “
Mike Nolan’s Race:- Superb support – the best ever turnout? Many thanks to Mike for keeping the fixture going.
Nine Standards Results. This was up at Kirkby Stephen. 8ml, 1800ft and all runnable. Wet throughout, but no trouble being an out and back course. Lots of road to get onto the fell, but worth it from up north. Mike was 7th, Natalie broke the Ladies record. Carshare wishes Tim successful times and results with his now local club of Ambleside.
Incidentally, local knowledge has it that the last CP on Black Combe is nasty to finfd in the clag, a recce recommended. Also, I’d not noticed a new Lakes race, 21st June, 12ml, 5500ft from Cocley Beck. A most welcome addition.
