Marvellous to have all these comments and contributions, which was the reason for the change within Carshare. A reminder that if you haven’t worked out the Comments system, fiddle around with “comments RSS” – at the L bottom of the Carshare page, or get in touch with John direct.
The latest comes from Nick Swift – Leg4 Seniors.
Calderdale Relay Results –
Kirsty has Commented on the Ladies times – Rob Little maintained his fastest leg record on leg 6, as did Mike and Steve for the Vets, also Gavin and Ron on leg3 . I’ll probably have missed other excellent Legs….
Wot’s all this about Pennine passing on running shoes instead of the baton?
These are my own, not official DPFR views. I was distinctly saddened that the Seniors had to resort to asking Mick Stenton to run Leg 5 for them, as he had already run the demanding Leg 1 for the Vets. Not turning up isn’t acceptable, and it was a decidedly understrength team to start off with. Maybe I’d best not publish all my thoughts about this, suffice to say that a contribution to FRA Championships and Relays helps the achievement of the Club.
Leg 5 from me and Keith was heavy, muddy and wet, reliable as expected, but never going to be a high flier. Steve and Mike pulled loads back on 6, finishing just behind Horwich, but we’d all left them with too much to do.
Next Relay is the Pennine Bridleway, 2nd Feb. see Kirsty’s Comment . So what criteria should be used for picking teams, I wonder?
Mick Stenton has the coasters for the Vets, if you missed out – Rob Little has the Seniors – anyone got them for the other teams?
Thoughts from Tom (Westgate…)
- Thanks to Mike amongst others for trying to pull things together under difficult conditions
- As a club we do not collectively put Calderdale forward – discuss !!
- We need to put some information together so that newer members are aware of it
- Calderdale is a great team effort – the level of general athletic chaos is something to behold in a positive way!!
- We spend so much of time worrying about ourselves it is really good to be involved in a discipline where you do not want to let the team down!!
- It is a good opportunity for newer (& sadly quicker!!) members to get involved .
Thanks again to everybody involved with putting the teams together & a personal apology for slowing down the B team!!
