Bamford Camping Weekend Friday19th to Sunday 21st August
Bamford Recreation Ground
This is an event for Dark Peakers and their families.
For those that used to attend the camp we had each year at Thornbridge, the plan is to try and recreate the same types of events while recognising that the change in venue will introduce a different vibe. The Club will be subsidising some of the costs so that we can keep the fees low.
We will be charge £7 per night for adults to camp and children under 18 will be free. For day or evening only visitors we will collect £2 per person. There will be full use of the pavilion facilities for showers and toilets throughout the weekend. We will arrange a large party tent for gatherings.
Friday evening from 4pm
Some sort of quiz if we can get a volunteer to organise it.
Saturday morning
10:30 Fell racedevised by Tom Saville and administered by David Hakes.
The start is about 15 minutes walk from the recreation ground.
I went round this last Sunday and it will be tough with two massive climbs and technical descents.
Saturday afternoonJunior races or games
Saturday eveningBBQ with some beers supplied by the club. We need a few people to bring along some BBQs to set up. Bring you own food to cook.
Sunday MorningDark Peaks version of the Highland Games.(organiser required)
There is safe cycling for less confident cyclist using cyclepaths all the way out to Fairholmes and back.
This a great weekend for families with children of all ages and dogs are also welcome.
I need help with organising the different activities so please contact me and get involved.
