Another very good turnout for the final British and English Championship race, but a third Ladies counter was needed. Sunny Kettlewell, perfect running conditions.
A classic, worthy AS course, very well organised throughout. We started in an open field, so no bottlenecks, and then relentless climbing, sometimes steep, often runnable, to the trig point, and then a very fast shifting descent back the same way. Lloyd very strong for 2nd, lots of very good Vet 40\’s, Mike Egner was 1st V50, Dave Tait was 1st V60. Janet another excellent run in the Ladies race, 2nd, with Judith 9th, and 2nd V40. That gives Janet the British Championship to add to her English victory, Judith should have clinched 2nd LV40, Steve Storey superbly takes 3rd V50, Dave takes both English and British V60. The V40\’s placings may need to wait for the statistician, and also the Team placings. Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to this year\’s events, the club repeatedly out in strength.
