A little informal competition for the Christmas and New Year period

  • Visit as many trigs as possible starting on Saturday December 18 and finishing on Sunday January 9.
  • Score points based on their height and remoteness (see scoring system below).
  • Submit your trigs points to me tom.brunt1@btinternet.com and I’ll sort out the scoring. Let me know the date of your visit, and for obscure or un-named trigs please include a grid reference. I’ll update a leader board every few days.
  • Trigs can be visited by any human-powered means.
  • Anyone doing the Crookstone Crashout on Sunday will automatically get off to a good start with 999 points. Similarly, the Trigger could make for a very apt conclusion to your campaign…·

    Scoring
    system:

    ·
The score for each trig is the product of its
height (in metres) and the minimum distance to a tarmac road. So, for example:

Height / m Road distance / km Score
    Blackden 590 1.69 997
    Stanage High
    Neb
    458 1.00 458
    Outer Edge 419 3.25 1361

    ·
Best (i.e. highest scoring) twelve trigs count,
and are certainly not restricted to the Dark Peak.

    ·
A trig can only count once towards your total
    score.

    ·
Bonus points might be awarded at certain stages
of the competition – keep an eye open for these…
