Colin Henson had been planning a sponsored walk from Great Longstone to Meninglow where his youngest son had his ashes spread. Colin’s lad had been a keen amateur archeologist and Meninglow is an ancient site. I would like to organise such a walk and so raise funds for either a joint memorial to Colin and Eric or seperate ones.
A cast metal sign as a direction post with a dedication at the bottom had been suggested for Colin and enquiries are ongoing about getting one made and possible sites near Great Longstone, maybe on Longstone Edge have been looked at. An alternative to a memorial sign would be a bench and something like that I thought might be a fitting memorial to Eric. Feedback would be appreciated.
