As with Litton, and a forecast of heavy snow on the day, the organiser says:

“Alas we have succumbed to the weather. Given the timing of the heaviest snow fall and existing conditions in Edale it became increasingly clear that travelling to and from the event venue would be extremely hazardous and our alternative venues all fall in the amber weather zone. Competitors and our volunteers travel a considerable distance and we have a responsibility for their safety. This is a great disappointment to us. We intend to reschedule the event in late January.

Now what to do with 300 mince pies?”
