It will not have escaped anyone’s notice just what a successful year DP is having in its 40th year … and it’s particularly good to note and celebrate the enormous contributions made by present and former members of ShUOC to that success.

The calendar understands, for example, that all (yup, confirmed all eigh) of the successful Men’s Open Hodgson Relay Team fall into this category, and it’s equally gratifying to note how many such members continue to wear the brown vest after they’ve left Sheffield. Rhys FR (British Fell Running Champion 2016) is one such example. His partner on their final – absolutely storming – final Hodgson leg, Kris Jones, is another.

Great to report, therefore, that Kris recently smashed the record for the Pentland Skyline, coming in more than two minutes ahead of the likes of Andrew Fallas, Murray Strain and Jethro Lennox. Now that really is something. Well done, Kris and all!
