From Tanky’s family via UK Climbing forum: “We are sad to announce that Bryan (Tanky) Stokes passed away on Saturday 19th December, his birthday. He will be skiing the fresh powder, walking the heathered fells and climbing the grit. We invite you to join a Celebration of Tanky at St. Swithins church, Holmesfield on Friday 8th January 2016 at 2.15 pm. We ask for no sadness but stories to be told, informal dress and colour to be worn.”
