OK. Decision time. The Boundary Run is OFF. There’s already black ice all over the pavements here at Loxley. We know that there’s deep unconsolidated snow on the tops, probably with an ice crust by morning and freezing winds. In these conditions, a Boundary completion is going to be impossible for most people in the group in anything like 12 hours, so I can’t see any point in rendezvousing at the school at 6am and expecting supporters to turn out. I’m opting for Willy’s suggestion of a Loxley 5 Trigs, which has completeness and elegance of circuit in its favour. Strikes me it’s a neat idea, and better than everbody toing and froing on Facebook all evening about different manifestations of a sawn-off Boundary. Doable in 5 hours-ish in these conditions? How about a mid-morning departure from 615 Loxley Road? 10am? Back by sunset, and then we have the small matter of 20 pints or so of Boundary Ale to dispense in the evening. If you want to continue discussion about all this, can I suggest that we do it through the Boundary Run Facebook group rather than the DP group – then we are all conversing in the same place.
