Like father, like son, some might say – Tom’s alighted upon the entirely novel idea of going for a run, a large fried breakfast, and a pint or two to celebrate his coming of age.  Next thing you know, he’ll go do something silly like trying to run the BG at the tender age of 16 … oh, hang on, he’s already done that.
Anyway, Tom tells us all
are welcome to join him for a running of the traditional Grindleford cafe breakfast run, departing the Sportsman at 9am on Thursday 27th December, arriving in Grindleford for a 10:30am helping of tea and lard.  For those who don’t fancy running, Norton Wheelers will be meeting at the Beauchief Hotel at 9:45am for
a ride out to the cafe – so expect even more ridiculous lycra attire than is usual in the cafe on such occasions.

As is also traditional (never mind the pre-Xmas lightweights), a slightly tubbier Tom will be returning on foot up the hill to the Sportsman for a pint afterwards – because, he informs us, “I can”.  As for me, I’ll be having at least a couple, ‘cos I can too.
