This is a very long (24hr) orienteering event i.e. a 24hr mountain marathon score event, so no tent or sleeping bag to carry but lots of food.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThick mist and rain did make the navigation tricky, especially when finding a 3m boulder at night on a barren hillside. It was about 1hr between controls. The ground was truly (AHH!) Andy Harmer Heaven, always bog with either tussocks, bracken, dense forest, holes or with added bog.
