Tigger Tor \u2013 A cool windy but clear day saw 41 Dark Peak Fell Runners tackle this traditional early season pipe opener, run for the first time from Ringinglow and thereby cutting out the road sections. In the women\u2019s race Phillipa Williams, Juliet Downs and Sally Fawcett took the team prize in emphatic style by finishing 1st<\/sup>, 2nd<\/sup> and 3rd<\/sup> with Phillipa an impressive 7th<\/sup> overall and Sally 1st<\/sup> F40. Alison Wainwright 1st<\/sup> F50 and Jane Crowson 1st<\/sup> F60 completed a clean sweep of the categories. In the men\u2019s race Tom Perry and Alex Mason were 3rd<\/sup> and 4th<\/sup> behind wide margin winner Steve Franklin of Totley. Results, complete with finishing videos(!) here.<\/a> <\/p>\n Margery Hill \u2013 New RO Tom Brunt writes: \u201cUnusually benign conditions greeted the 31 starters for this classic winter outing (much to the relief of the new race organiser). So for once there was no snow or gale-force winds to contend with, and the two crossings of Abbey Brook were straightforward. At the sharp end of the race Tom Saville and Fin Grant stormed round with Tom coming home first in a remarkable 1:40:55, which is believed to have knocked a sizeable chunk off the race record. The women\u2019s race was won jointly by Lisa Watson and Despina Berdeni, and there were notable age group performances from Messrs. Johnson, Bradbury, Addison and Berry.<\/p>\n
