New Year resolutions \u2013 It\u2019s that time of year and as \u2018dry-January\u2019 has never really caught my imagination, tackling a race series such as the Lakeland Classics might have more appeal. Best three performances to count, that must include a minimum of two \u2018Super Long\u2019 races plus any other of the six races. In 2023 the Super Longs are Duddon (3rd<\/sup> June), Ennerdale (10th<\/sup> June), Buttermere (24th<\/sup> June) and Wasdale (8th<\/sup> July) and the \u2018Long\u2019 races are Three Shires (16th<\/sup> September) and Langdale (7th<\/sup> October).<\/p>\n

Boxing Day Bogtrot \u2013 A healthy 40 runners turned out most of whom convincingly beat the club captain. (He had an excuse buy hey, a win’s a win!) David Hakes\u2019s 16 controls kept Vet 60 Tim Tett at bay by a single point. Roy is threatening to incorporate more cryptic clues next year.<\/p>\n

Two Turtle Doves \u2013 Yet another race win for Finlay Grant with Aiden Smith 2nd<\/sup> and Alison Wainwright 1st<\/sup> F50. Results<\/a> <\/p>\n

Helen Elmore writes: “Last race of the year. Wormstones.Zanthe first, I was second and first v50 ,Rachel Rose 4th. Dark peak women first team. I don’tthinkthere were any dark peak men in the prizes.”<\/i><\/p>\n

Adam Samuel writes: “Well done to Anna Watkinson-Powell who won 1st lady at today\u2019s Auld Lang Syne fell race in Haworth.”<\/i><\/p>\n
