{"id":837504,"date":"2022-12-09T17:41:20","date_gmt":"2022-12-09T17:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dpfr.org.uk\/wp_dpfr\/?p=837504"},"modified":"2022-12-09T17:42:51","modified_gmt":"2022-12-09T17:42:51","slug":"","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dpfr.org.uk\/wp_dpfr\/837504","title":{"rendered":"The Twelve Trigs of Christmas 2022-2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Back by popular demand\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Same rules and format as last year, but for new entrants the nuts and bolts of the competition are explained below<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A little informal competition for the Christmas and New Year period <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit as many trigs as possible starting from <strong><i>Saturday December 17<\/i><\/strong> and finishing <strong><i>on Sunday January 8<\/i><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Score points based on their height and remoteness (see scoring system below).<\/li>\n<li>Submit your trigs to me (<a href=\"mailto:tom.brunt1@btinternet.com\">tom.brunt1@btinternet.com<\/a>) and I\u2019ll sort out the points. Let me know the date of your visit, and for really obscure or un-named trigs please include a grid reference. I\u2019ll update a leader board every few days.<\/li>\n<li>Trigs can be visited by any human-powered means.<\/li>\n<li>Last year Dark Peakers visited a remarkable variety of trig points from the tip of Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands and pretty much everywhere in between. Trig scores ranged from minus 1 (yes, really) through to 14710 (Ben Alder since you ask). However, I have been reliably informed by last year\u2019s winner that a higher scoring trig is out there\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Scoring system:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The score for each trig is the product of its height (in metres) and the minimum distance to a tarmacked public road (in km).
