Andrew’s support needs beefing up a bit, as some of his existing support runners are due to run more than one leg, which isn’t ideal for ordinary mortals. An additional runner, and preferably more, on each of legs, 2, 3 and 4 would be great. I strongly recommend newer members of the club to head up to the Lakes for the BG weekend. It is, in my biased opinion, much the best club event of the year. Come rain or shine, supporting a contender on one of the legs gives you a great day out on the hill, travelling at a comfortable pace with the additional attraction of watching someone really suffer, all of which is followed by a night in the pub. However, be warned: You are likely to be inspired to set about doing the reccying and training required to become a contender in the future. What’s not to like?
