John pulled ahead to finish 4th<\/sup>. <\/p>\n <\/u><\/p>\n Run Leaders and Coaching<\/u><\/p>\n Over recent years, the club has agreed to pay course fees for a number of people to take introductory leadership courses. UK Athletics LiRF<\/a> and CiRF<\/a> courses are the two basic qualifications for running coaches. They enable the Juniors to run effective sessions, but they are also applicable to senior level coaching. As these funds have been allocated, we (Lewis Ashton in particular) strongly encourage take up of these courses. We currently have places for two LiRF and one CiRF available. Talk the Lewis if you are interested.<\/p>\n Lakeland Classics<\/u><\/p>\n For those who don\u2019t know, The Lakeland Classics Trophy recognises performance in a series of seven classic Lakeland races each year. A runner\u2019s best three performances count, at least two of which must be \u2018Super Long\u2019 races. The Super Longs are Duddon Valley, Ennerdale, Buttermere and Wasdale. Borrowdale, Three Shires and Langdale are the other three. All these races sit very well on a fell runner\u2019s c.v. Next year\u2019s series should start with the Duddon Valley race in early June.
