The Juniors were back out there again today (6th Dec). Both groups were almost full. Now that’s a first. The last Junior run of the year is 20th Dec. Its going to be in Norfolk Park, to avoid the worst of any possible mid-winter weather.<\/p>\n

And the last two are organised by stalwart members of the club. I’m sure they will welcome our support in volunteering, as well as racing. As these are local Championship races it would be good to avoid calendar conflicts if at all possible.<\/p>\n Back in the present, we’ve got Covid rules set out and they are working well. With the qualified leaders we have, we are able to run at least 2 groups of 12 runners for a session. The mid-winter sessions are in the parks and on the margins of our fair city. So Tier 3 boundaries have limited impact on plans. Come the spring, we’ll be back out into the Peak District, and preparing for that championship season. <\/p>\n We await plans from the FRA for leadership training, LiRF & CiRF. The non-fell LiRF from EA will be run on-line in 2021. This may be a good option for those wanting to get their LiRF done and dusted. Following the AGM’s approval of the training requests, we’ve got Majka & Micheal Griffiths in the frame for the LiRF and Helen Elmore for CiRF. Ian Fitz is also keen to get qualified (LiRF) and Mark Whitworth is also on track with the LiRF via another route.<\/p>\n EA sponsor DBS checks for club officials and coaches. Tom and Megan are looking at getting their formal paperwork to enable them to help out with the Juniors. That will be great!
