It can be run in either direction and clockwise seems to have been more popular. There were various reports of navigational challenges, my favourite being Emma Mavin\u2019s account of inadvertently reversing The Wart\u2019s Revenge race route by taking the trod due west from Rud Hill. Fortunately, she didn\u2019t make it quite as far as Stanage Pole.
