{"id":3309,"date":"2019-12-22T14:56:23","date_gmt":"2019-12-22T14:56:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dpfr.org.uk\/wp_dpfr\/?p=3309"},"modified":"2019-12-31T17:37:42","modified_gmt":"2019-12-31T17:37:42","slug":"","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dpfr.org.uk\/wp_dpfr\/3309","title":{"rendered":"Tour de Helvellyn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Tour de Helvellyn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday 21 December 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>38 miles (61.1 km); 7,874 feet (2,400 m) of ascent<\/p>\n<p>Starting in Askham the route generally follows footpaths and bridleways to St Peter&#8217;s Church near Martindale; Boredale (Boardale on the British Mountain Map); Patterdale; Sticks Pass; Stannah Beck; Swirls car park; Birkside Ghyll; Raise Beck; Grisedale Tarn; Patterdale again and back to Askham.<\/p>\n<p>For the time of year it was a warm day and it almost rained a few times.  On the way back mist came down but otherwise visibility was good throughout. <\/p>\n<p>Details of starters and retirements are not known.
