This is its 34th edition. With its first edition in 1974, a strong tradition was established between our race and the Fell Runners and, in general, with runners from Great Britain. Every year a significant number of Fell Runners met at the starting line and finished with excellent results.<br \/>\nNot only have Harry Walker (4 times in the top 4), Jeff Norman (5th in 1974 and 1st in 1975) Joss Naylor, and Nigel Gates (2nd in 1981) participated in our race, but also Jack Maitland (1st in 1985), Phil Makepiece (1st in 1986) and even Billy Burns (1st in 2000, as well as being amongst the top runners on several other occasions).<\/p>\n<p>Our mountain race would like to renew this tradition by inviting some of your top runners, based on results in this upcoming season. We would be able to help these runners find housing in our area. It is also possible to combine their trip with other races taking place in Switzerland during the same time period. <br \/>\nSierre-Zinal takes place in beautiful alpine territory, amidst some of the most beautiful summits in the Alps.
