\n\tThe awarding of Team Championship Medals<\/span>. “”Medals will be awarded to counting runners in those races that count towards the team prize only” and “No additional medals may be purchased”.

\n\tNext Sportsman Wednesday (26th)<\/span> :- A plea from ” Greg, a final year student at Sheffield UNI, hoping to do some running with dark peak this year and am planning on going to the Wednesday club run. I don’t have a car and am wondering if anyone would be able to give me a lift. I am more than happy to contribute to fuel costs. I live in Broomhill.”

\n\tScafell Pike:- <\/span>from Mike:-  “<\/span>The weather and conditions were near perfect with fantastic views into the Lakes and across to Scotland and the Isle of Man. These conditions unfortunately brought out huge numbers of ramblers and tourists. I’ve never seen so many people on Scafel, great care had to be taken on the higher slopes not to skittle someone out of the way!
\n\tDue to a gate being left open on the day of the Wasdale race this year and 300 sheep escaping up onto the fells, the farmer of the lower fields will no longer allow across these fields. This resulted in a long diversion at both the start and finish. Who knows what will happen at next years Wasdale English Championship race. No-one will ever know if it was a runner or walker who left the gate open,but the organiser is left with the headache.
\n\tGreat running from Spyke and Judith to take the Jack and Jill trophy away from myself and Hazel.Whernside –<\/span>
\n\tOtley Reservoirs:<\/a>–  either 14miles or 20 miles around the scenic Washburn Valley, above Otley. Carshare, doing the 14mile, was joined by Rachel, doing the 20mile trip. A good new event, well supported, and lots of hard effort had gone into this. The route was described as “flagged”, but wise Carshare, remembering flagged occasions at Longshaw, took a map, and then remembered to take it out and look at it. Instructions were to go clockwise, but early on all the front runners preferred to go anti-clockwise, so a turn at the race sharp end. Perhaps it was excellent “worselling”, as a bit later the others piled off the wrong way. Two people overtook me, and I finished 5th – still trying to work that out… Hopefully a regular event? results.<\/a>
\n\tWhich sets me wondering if the art of “worselling” still flourishes? Ages back, din’t someone within DPFR News define worselling, in relation to the Round Rotherham race? Anyone know where this can be found?<\/p>\n
