Mike was 7th, 27.37mins. <\/font>      <\/p>\n<p><\/font><font color=\"#0000ff\">Duddon<\/font> \u2013&#160;&#160; <br \/>&#160;&#160; Damp, maybe rain later on for the full course, and total clag.     <br \/><font color=\"#0000ff\">Short:-<\/font> John Boyle was 2nd, behind Dave Soles, soon followed by Steve Storey, and a poor Carshare who managed the circumnavigation of Caw, trying to find the way down.. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.duddonvalleyfellrace.org.uk\/races\/short\/2012\">results<\/a>.     <br \/><font color=\"#0000ff\">Long. <\/font>&#160;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.duddonvalleyfellrace.org.uk\/races\/long\/2012\">results.<\/a> Glen Borrell sends:- \u201cHad a little issue off the first checkpoint at Harter fell (1) dropping too far into the valley on the right : not too much as picked up my bearing and trusted it till i hit the road and off up to Hard Knott (2). Picking up Mike Robinson (who was running with an injury I later found out) so I tracked him for the most part over to Little Stand (3) (climbing up here the weather cleared briefly) to give magnificent views of the valley. I lost them off the top of here so was on my own again. my nav from here was not to bad but not the best line : in fact I did not see another person until I was about to drop into Three Shires Stone (4). Picked up and couple of runners and ran with them for a bit. Then we got lost in the clag again! ended up being on my own and had a bit of a moment. I was stood on a path, no stud marks in sight, windy, rainy and no visibility!&#160; What to do? it felt like i should run one way but the compass said the other. Briefly I ignored the compass, then was like no. Compass never lies! Go back! run due south, yes that&#8217;s the way. found some stud marks, picked up 2 more runners, then Mike Robinson came through, where had they gone,&#160; who was now guiding a few through along with Hazel. Right lets go with him. Dow Crag (6) ticked, White Pike (7) and Caw (9) and down to the finish. Finished in a pretty reasonable time of 4:07 and placed 25th (well what would have been) .     <br \/>&#160; But Swirl How had been missed out\u2026     <br \/>Keith can tell you how he spent 5.32 out on the fells. That&#8217;s his story for the pub.
