Plenty of Bluebells, but unfortunately they flash past as you hammer down through Elland Woods before a &#8216;Grindleford&#8217; type finish through the River Calder. <a title=\"http:\/\/www.ukresults.net\/2012\/bluebell10.html\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ukresults.net\/2012\/bluebell10.html\">results.<\/a>\u201d     <br \/><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">     <br \/>Old County Tops \u2013 <font color=\"#000000\">Saturday 19th May. If anyone would like a scenic day out, Bob Johnston has\u201c<\/font><\/span> &#8216;lost&#8217; my partner for the Old County Tops. The usual visit to all parts of Pendle, criss-crossing everywhere, but like The Tour, the running is good, and would be awkward if the clag was down. Cold on the top, a bit of white stuff in the air. Last year, clashing with Calderdale, the race made a loss, so the organiser rightly cut back on prizes to keep the excellent \u00a35.00 entry fee. 80 runners, many more would cause problems for the village, so back to most pleasant race numbers. Problem solved, Greg has kindly sorted them out\u2026\u201dA beautiful spring day greeted the 235 starters, bright and breezy with the threat of the odd shower and a sunburnt neck. Several Dark Peak travellers up for the classic Coniston loop \u2013 the long climb up Wetherlam, round to Swirl How and along to the Old Man before a hard and fast drop off all the way to the finish field.
