Big thanks to Mike and everyone involved in putting the race on. A lot of thought, hard work and from a simple runner\u2019s view, it all went well.  Yes, a queue by those steps, but there was plenty of previous time to get clear, and no real issue. No way round the problem, so just get on with it.<\/span> Cold, but it stayed dry, only a vicious hailstorm when we\u2019d finished.  Teams were out stronger than at Lad\u2019s Leap \u2013 thanks to everyone. Looks like 2nd Senior Men, behind Borrowdale \u2013 very close, mind. Someone else will need to work out other results\u2026<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Great Lakes Run.<\/span> is the next English Championship. There will be two sets of Route Notes, one for general usage, and one more\u2026.
So \u2013 has anyone sorted out the Slight Side descent, please? We\u2019re going, on a good warm day, to set off from Cockley Beck and go at it. The safe drop slips off SW on a decent enough path. (That\u2019s been my way\u2026)
But \u2013 has anyone come down the central gully\/gullies? And what about dropping off direct East? Any help most welcome!<\/p>\n

Blackden Blitz[code for Olympic event]<\/span> \u201cThe Organising committee ,have continued to work – day and night- to ensure the Blackden Blitz [code for Olympic event] takes place-despite attempts by the media to sully their good names.Even last night a sweep of the left hand ,by one of the committee ,roughly described the route-as cars sped to Birchin clough-indicating that Dunge clough would feature in c.p 5 ,before the famous Holly tree was visited ,ahead of the scramble to Dean hill. In true Olympic fashion the taking part will be encouraged,irrespective of desire to win,but rest assured there will be no greater spectacle in the whole Olympic games than the teeth rattling descent off Dean hill at the finish .Andy.\u201d
