Tim Martin apparently lost more points (-93) than Steve Martin totalled and still came a very creditable 3rd in LS. Maurice Musson, Steve M and John Dalton were comparing their lines off the map to Glossop – tales that definitely need more investigation and publicity (actually John stayed on the map, but for far too long, and managed a record breaking -104 for being late back, leaving an overall score of 6!) I also saw Glen Borrell who came I think about 10th in Long Score. A great day out – very challenging ground without the mist and a navigators dream in the mist !!! Clear, dry and chilly, but good running conditions.
Very much like Kinder Downfall, and also on the Pennine Way. Rhys was 2nd, just behind Carl Bell. Helen excelled as 1st Lady everything, and Carshare didn’t tweak any worries, so pleased with that. Was wondering if you could add the details to the Dark Peak website as know there are quite a few keen cyclist in the club.
It’s on 28th April 2012, based at Loweswater near Cockermouth and is in memory of two brothers, both good friends of mine, who died in a cycling accident in December 2010. Any funds raised from the event go directly to Road Peace who campaign for road safety and support road crash victims. Might be good for any brown vest training for the Fred Whitton or other cycling events.
