Having both done 3 Shires the day before in reasonable weather, conditions could not have been different. Torrential rain all morning continued, all paths were streams and the clag started at the tarn. Jim Davies won in 50 mins, Borrowdale claiming the 1st 3 places and the team prize. Ash was 14th and 1 st v50, on his birthday, in 61mins. I was 12 th in 60 mins. The weather meant the turn out was a lowly 40. However the route is as good as an up and down gets with 2200 ft in 2 miles up and then the Borrowdale descent down.
