The record was set in 1988 by Martin Stone and co. In 8:07. Then in 1996 the National Park and Nat Trust got involved and we had to beg to be allowed to run the proper course but only every other year. In 2002 The Rolling Stones (Simon Bourne, Alan Ward, Marcus Scotney, Richard Patton) ran the full course in the 2nd best time of 8:39. In 2004 we managed to negotiate a new route that we could do every year going via Lost Lad and Sheepfold Clough. It was also adjusted in 2005 to go via Cutthroat Bridge. Last year was a very quick year with record times for the new route in all classes. 8:48 for the men . Dark peak Ladies set the best all female time of 10:42. Nicky Spinks’ Blind Mice have now gone better still this year and lowered their own record to sub 10hrs- 9:59..
If anyone has results from 2000 and any pre-1992 it would be good to have a full set of all 36 events.

John Hunt “spotted plenty of DPFR in many different teams Friday night before the kick off. Fantastic conditions loads of snow to wander through, once past Moscar the snow really started to dominate the view and make for some great night scenes. I don’t know any results other than DPFR had one runner in the winning team and we got round in 8hours 58minutes and 45 seconds. Stephen Watts, Tom Brunt, Stephen Pyke and myself. The record for this course ( 8:07:00 ) has got to be one of the most tantalising do able long race records.”

Callum sends:- “Some more Dark Peak (in bold; feel free to correct any I missed) .
