Not nice weather so much appreciated that they stood around for so long, especially at the Downfall. Despite my 3 years residence in Edale,&nbsp; my southern flatland legs, a thigh deep submergence in a bog, a ducking in Fairbrook and a bit of wandering around on Kinder resulted in a very poor showing. Perhaps next years champs could be a 5 mile road race so I can redeem myself!! &#8220;<br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp; DT &#8211; A road race Club Championship, there&#8217;s an idea. Not sure what would be worse, that or a Cross Country course&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><span><font color=\"#0000ff\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fellrunner.org.uk\/results\/race08\/fulltour08.pdf\">Tour of Pendle Results<\/a><\/font>:-&nbsp; <span>Very wet and heavy, but mostly clear of the threatened clag. This is some hard race. Matt was an impressive 6th, in a class field and a tough race. Steve Storey 17th and 2nd V50. Joe &#8220;blew up&#8221; on that last huge climb.&nbsp;&nbsp; If ever an example is needed as to how to put on a proper race, this is it. \u00a35.00, T shirt to everyone, loads and loads of prizes in every category. Well organised as ever, immediate results, cheap cakes, drinks and soup. Pity about the clash with the Club Championships&#8230;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhac.co.uk\/sycaa\/XC\/results2008\/WHill.htm\">S Yorks Cross Country (2) Results<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#0000ff\">2009<\/font>:- A long way off, but I&#8217;ve been asked to put out a reminder about the Cannock Chase Trig Points Race. &#8221; The Trig race is on, and with cheaper entry fee!, next year Sunday 11th January.&#8221;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpfr.org.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/11\/trig-point-flier-v1-2009.doc\">Entry Form, Details<\/a><br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp; DT &#8211; really worth going to, just what&#8217;s needed early in the year to get things moving. I can help if any Route Notes are needed&#8230;<br \/>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Just hope that the traditionally excellent baking is up to its high standard for afters&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Not to forget <font color=\"#0000ff\">Kinder Trial<\/font> entries, in due course, another early race&#8230;Is it being held next year? Not on FRA website Calendar?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.threepeaksrace.org.uk\/index.html\">Three Peaks 2009<\/a>&nbsp; pleased to see that it returns to a &#8220;navigational event&#8221;.
