John will soon have most results out. This is a real classic fell course. Warm, clear in those first parts, and clear across all those middling hills, descents and cols. The long, just runnable grind back up to The Calf is the crunch, and into the clag and some rain. A long way to Winder, and try to get the correct line down, or have a town centre variation….At least most of us had a number showing….An extremely strong front end, with Joe 3rd, and yet another prestigious Team Prize.

Summer Series (10) Results – Emlin.

Belper Rugby Rover Results:- (I did this once, a good long scenic White Peak wander..) with Martin Stocks 19th – 2:24:05 and Phil Walters 107th – 2.51.19. “It’s billed as a 30K, mainly off-road event with about 2,400′ of climbing. One long hill up to Alport Heights and some muddy stuff around Shining Cliff Woods. Lots of stiles, very well signed and marshalled.”

Olympic Triathlon :- Alistair Brownlee – people may remember him storming the last Leg for Bingley in the Calder Vale FRA Relays a couple of years ago…
Seems like, understandably,he went for glory with about 3km to run, going to the very front. It looked ever so hot, grabbing water and sloshing it all over to cool down. Roll on 2012.

Langdale:- Don’t forget it’s pre-entry, very popular, and the final Lakeland Classics Race – Saturday 11th October.

World Cup Selection Race – and an excellent 3rd from Lloyd, with Rob Little 23rd – clearly a right strong field thrashing up Snowdon. That should? be good enough to gain selection for the World Mountain Running Trophy in Switzerland.

Worsthorne Moor over by Burnley, with Steve Storey 15th, 1st V50, in 46:00mins.

Welsh Trig Points:- A mention for Mercia’s Rob Woodall, who’s now been to every trig point in Wales – all 660 of them….

Lakeland Classics:- Updated after Borrowdale. We’ve slipped to 2nd, after Borrowdale’s strong result, but still in with a chance – Three Shires and Langdale to come.
    A strong set of front runners – Janet – 4th : John Hunt – 8th : Joe – 10th : Bob – 11th : Mike – 12th : Matt – 20th : DT – 34th : Mick – 39th : Nicky – 40th and 1st LV40.
