I was distinctly saddened that the Seniors had to resort to asking Mick Stenton to run Leg 5 for them, as he had already run the demanding Leg 1 for the Vets. Not turning up isn’t acceptable, and it was a decidedly understrength team to start off with. Maybe I’d best not publish all my thoughts about this, suffice to say that a contribution to FRA Championships and Relays helps the achievement of the Club.
Leg 5 from me and Keith was heavy, muddy and wet, reliable as expected, but never going to be a high flier. Steve and Mike pulled loads back on 6, finishing just behind Horwich, but we’d all left them with too much to do.
Next Relay is the Pennine Bridleway, 2nd Feb. see Kirsty’s Comment .
