This is the format…

1 The route can be run at any time from Monday morning until Thursday evening, to coincide with Pie Night at The Sportsman. To get Tha Sprunce up and running, the first time trial will be open for two weeks, from Monday 18th to Thursday 28th May. The second one will be from Monday 1st to Thursday 4th June and weekly thereafter for the foreseeable future.

2 The route will change every 4 weeks, so as to allow runners to improve their previous times, but hopefully not become repetitive. The second route will start on Monday 22nd June. Details of the first route are below.

3 Having run your time trial, send the following information to me either by Facebook pm or via jim.paxman@blueyonder.co.uk Name, age category, date of run and your time.

4 I will publish the weekly results in the Carshare blog and also create a league table including an age category handicap. (I hope!)

The first route (Route 1) starts and finishes outside the club hut at The Sportsman SK 28196 86140 and has six checkpoints. By my reckoning it is 4.6 miles (7.4km) with 636’ (193m) of ascent, which would make it a BS – See attached map.

CP1 Stile SK 28335 85538

CP2 Stile SK 27670 85326

CP3 Path/Road junction SK 26472 85821

CP4 Wall corner SK 26824 86511

CP5 Path/Wyming Brook Drive junction SK 26464 87054

CP6 Fox Holes Lodge SK 27651 86620

Please follow the red line on the map between checkpoints rather than any tarmac options.
