The first adult will be the group leader so we only <\/span><b>need<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> one support runner per week &#8211; but more would be fine!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019ve said on the google form that you might be available, you might be contacted and taken up on your offer. You\u2019re not automatically committed. Think of yourself as Batman waiting for the bat signal (only the bat signal is a whatsapp and you don\u2019t have to wear a rubber suit and a cape*).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The support runner doesn\u2019t need to plan a route or \u201cbe in charge\u201d, you just need to keep up with the group and enjoy the run. You\u2019d need some outdoor experience, but only the amount you\u2019d gain in getting fit enough to keep up with the group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The run leader should have first aid kit, emergency shelter etc. but it would be great if you could bring those things as well, just in case. This is really belt and braces because all runners should have all the equipment mentioned in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dpfr.org.uk\/wp_dpfr\/juniors\/juniors-required-reading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">required reading doc.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If there is an emergency, you will be called upon to be a responsible adult. This would just be the usual action you would expect if something untoward happens in the outdoors &#8211; keep everyone warm, navigate to safety, phone emergency contacts (or emergency services), &#8211; that sort of thing. The only time this was needed recently was when a young man with a twisted ankle needed to be walked back to the cars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Usually, support runners will be familiar with the Sunday morning sessions.
