Margery Hill race Sat 2nd February

The conditions for Saturday's race remains uncertain ,subject to any significant dumpings of snow ,however if the full route is done then there will be 3 starts 8-50 ,9-10 and 9-30.

If however there is plenty of lying snow then the re will be a mass start at 9-30 ,allowing the fast lads the privilege of creating a furrow for slower comrades and the course will likely to be shorter and take in the delights of Wet stones before cutting over to Cogman cabin to resume the original course. This option has been done before when Neil gallantly acted as snow plough.
It's possible that a decision will not be finalised until early Saturday morning but as long as we can get to Fairholmes a race will be on. (Those with very long memories will recall in the mid 80s when I blew my whistle to pull runners off the hill and we followed a trail of blood back, Bob and Pete K wading deep snow in the gale didn't hear the whistle as they edged up Lost lad before returning!)
